Wise men talk of worlds beyond
Worlds beyond our eyes,
A wondrous place of love and peace
To which the spirit flies.
Wise men say we come again
To live another span,
That death is just a stepping stone
A pause within the plan.
Mystics say that many lives
Are needed to ensure,
A perfect understanding
Of God's eternal law.
Wise men say with smiling eyes
Our lives are but a dream,
A brief illusion clothed in flesh
A role within a scheme.
Wise men say that nothing dies
It only changes form,
That life goes on despite the myth
We perish in death's storm.
So when our loved ones pass away
Let hope replace our pain,
Have faith and trust that God ensures
We shall all meet again.

When I left that night
I hated leaving you here
I have seen you all
Crying many a tear

I can't hold you close
Can't give you a kiss
But want you to know
That's it's you that I miss.

Love to say I love you
But I know that you can't hear,
Love to hold your hand tight
And wipe away those tears.

There's so much I want to do
And things I would like to say,
But now I'm in heaven love
I will have to wait another day.

I will visit you daily
Just to make sure your ok,
You won't know im there
And won't hear what I say.

There may be a sign for you
When my wings have fully grown,
A picture, some letter I sent
Or maybe a seed I have grown.

That I'm right here next to you,
And no matter what you do in life

I drifted back to yesterday
The thought was oh, so clear
For just a moment, anyway
It felt like you were here

I smile when I think of you
Sometimes I cry so much

But God had other plans for you
An Angel he did find

Today is remembrance day for my Gt grandad who was killed battle of Somme.I pay my repects today for him.
91 years ago today he died for this country.

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'
